Val Thorens is a purpose-built ski town in the Tarentaise valley of the French Alps, in the Savoie department, at an altitude of 2,300 m.
It is part of Les Trois Vallées, one of the largest linked ski areas in the world with more than 600 km of slopes. The highest skiable points above the resort are the Pointe du Bouchet at 3,230 m and the Cime de Caron at 3,200 m.
