Morzine is an Alpine town in the Haute-Savoie, close to the Swiss border, at about 1,000 m. It is one of the most northerly of the French Alpine resorts.
It belongs to the Portes du Soleil, a ski region of twelve resorts in France and Switzerland between Mont Blanc and Lake Geneva. Morzine is linked with its neighbours Les Gets and Avoriaz, and its mostly intermediate terrain has made it popular with families.
