Courmayeur is a town in the Aosta Valley of northern Italy at 1,224 m, at the foot of the southern side of Mont Blanc. It grew as a destination with the rise of alpinism.
It shares access to the Vallée Blanche glacier run with Chamonix, which sits on the opposite, French side of the Mont Blanc massif.
